PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PLAN BY MINISTRY OF WATER AND ENVIRONMENT

Officials from the ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) through Rural water supply regional centre held a meeting with the technical staff at Kayunga District headquarters in the Council hall. The purpose of the meeting was to develop a performance improvement plan to the key areas that led to poor performance in the National Assessment for water and Environment sector in 2022 were Kayunga was among the last 10 Districts in the country.

TRAINING AN INTEGRATED REVENUE ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEM (IRAS)

Kayunga District Technical Team held a training on integrated Revenue Administration System (IRAS) which was organised by the Ministry Of Local Government. All heads of departments, Senior Asst CAO’s, Town clerks, Parish Chiefs and Sub Accountants have been trained on how to use this system whose vision is having a financial sustainable local Government. Mr Watuwa Muzamil has been elected as the focal person for this project.

TRAINING ON SOLAR POWERED WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION SYSTEMS IN UGANDA

The District Technical Team and Councillors held a Meeting with a Team from the Ministry of Water and Environment (MWE) which received funding from the UK Export Finance (UKEF) to construct solar powered water supply and sanitation systems in Uganda in Districts with Low safe water coverage The MWE contracted Nexus Greens Limited (NGL) a UK renewable energy contractor to provide clean energy solutions for a period of three years under the rural water and sanitation program.
