Kayunga District newly elected District Chairperson Hon.Muwonge Andrew has been sworn in as the newly elected chairperson for Kayunga District during a council meeting that was held on Wednesday in the District council hall.
Muwongo won National Unity Platform flag bearer Ms Nakwedde Harriet Kafero in a byelection that took place last week on 16/12/2021.
Hon Ruth Nankabirwa,toured Isimba hydro power plant in Kayunga District that was recently commissioned by President Yoweri Museveni in December 2019.
Before touring the dam, she first met the District leaders from the district headquarters and shared with them some of the challenges the district had encountered in relation to power supply, connection & installations made under the Rural Electrification Agency.
The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt Hon Nabbanja Robinah on Friday meet Kayunga District Leaders who included Bbaale constituency Member of Parliament Hon. Tebandeke Charles, District council members, District chairperson, RDC, Chief Administrative Officer, DISO, DPC, selected Heads of Departments and District NRM executive committee members from his offices in Kampala.
This followed her visit on 10th/09/2021 to the District where she promised to have a follow up meeting with the district leadership in her poffice in Kampala.
