The Uganda Network on Law, Ethics, and HIV/AIDS (UGANET) held an entry meeting at the District headquarters.
UGANET is an NGO that was established in 1995 to join organizations and individuals interested in advocating and strengthening ethical response to health and HIV in Uganda.
Through TASO, UGANET is implementing the global fund grant in Uganda for a period 2024 - 2026 targeting HIV and TB reduction plans.
It's over all objective is increase access to HIV, malaria,TB and reduce Gender Based Violence through increased legal and social protection.
Kayunga District Production Department held a micro scale irrigation exhibition at the District headquarters under the theme"Promotion of irrigated agriculture through adoption of micro scale irrigation technologies."
The exhibition was presided over by the DRDC.
Irrigation helps farmers grow crops all year, with or without rain thus having more food to eat and sell which improves their livelihoods.
The Production Department launched an animal vaccination campaign at the District headquarters.
The Department received a consignment of a fridge,freezer, stabilizer and vaccines (40,000 doses) FMD and (10,000 doses) ISD from the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries(MAAIF) .
The District is still under quarantine so the vaccines will help to protect the animal population against diseases.
The vaccines will be regulated by the Subcounty technical officers and supervisors for easy obtaining of the returns.
