OPM and Red Cross society delivering Relief items to victims in Kayunga Sub County.

The Uganda Red Cross and Office of the Prime Minister delivered a batch of relief supplies to 85 Households in kayunga Subcounty.

This was done following a hailstorm which occured on 8th November 2024 that affected 4 villages within Kayunga Subcounty.

The villages included Ntooke, Bwetyaba, Gaaza, and kafugge where a total number of 750 Households were affected and 5 persons injured.

1418.1 acres of food was affected, 46 Homes were destroyed, 48 homes were partly destroyed and 85 homes were displaced thus prompting Red cross rapid response.

Stakeholders together with a team from Girls for Climate Action NGO at the District Headquarters.

A team from Girls for Climate Action (G4CA) held an inception meeting with stakeholders at the District headquarters.

Girls for Climate Action is a Youth/ young Women led Movement that is centering their lived realities to advocate for climate justice.

This movement started in 2016 by a group of 9 young women and girls who were experiencing climate extremes of drought and flooding.

National Policy Implementation Trainning at The District Headquaters.

A team from the office of the President held a dialogue with Heads of department at the District headquarters.

The team was conducting a monitoring exercise on implemention of the National Policy that is domiciled in the Ministry
Of Finance Planning and Economic Development.

A number of policies have been developed and being implemented as a means of addressing public issues and improving lives of citizens.

The policies broadly covers Health, Education, Water and Environment .
