The President of Uganda officially commissioned the Mengo Zonal Presidential Industrial Hub at Ssenda village in Nazigo Town council kayunga District. 

The commissioning marked a major step in empowering Uganda 's youths with skilled labor.

 

The Mengo Zonal Presidential Hub is part of 19 industrial hubs across the country under the Presidential initiative of training youths with practical skills. 

 

The hub offers various trainings like welding, tailoring, baking, shoe making, mechanics, carpentry, cosmetology, among others.

Each learner graduates with a qualification certificate equivalent to Uganda certificate of education and it's internationally recognized.

 

The President emphasized the importance of skills in job creation doing away with unemployment.

 

He expressed his disappointment with Universal Primary and Secondary education

 where headteachers and PTAs distorted his vision

prompting him to resort to skilling thus the best government program.

 

He promised to inject more funds in the skilling hubs and further encouraged them to form saccos. 

 

These will be decentralized to districts.

 

The President further added plumbing, motor mechanic and electrical engineering in the courses to be skilled  

 

The Minister of State for Finance and planning Hon Amos Lugolobi applauded the President for this initiative that is curbing unemployment amongst youths , getting skills and introducing them to an income generating world.

 

The Minister urged government to increase the number of beneficiaries and expand accommodation facilities 

 

He further opted for day section for the youths staying with in the neighbouring communities.

These" hubs are not just training centers , but life changing sanctuaries .I recommend that funds be allocated for expansion".said the Minister.

 

In attendance were Distrct Chairperson , National women chairperson, Kayunga, CAO and Deputy, RDC, Deputy and Assts,DPC kayunga District staff, Religious leaders, NRM Chairperson, NRM flag bearers and contestants former, district councillors, Chairperson lcIIIs ,leaders among others.

 

He further held a meeting with government leaders and civil servants from greater mukono region at mukono boarding primary school in mukono municipality.

 

During the engagement they expressed gratitude for the visionary leadership and numerous development from the NRM government.

 

He urged them to make effective use of the peace and stability secured under the NRM government to drive social economic transformation in their communities.. 

Many from less stable nations seek refugee in Uganda, Ugandans must capitalize on the development programs to lift them selves out of poverty 

 

He promised the construction of the kayunga Bbaale Galiraaya road whose construction is underway.
