Kayunga District joined the rest of the World in commemorating the International Women's Day under the theme."Scaling up Investment to Accelerate Access to Justice for all Women and Girls."
This event took place at kawomya HC III in kangulumila Subcounty.
The event was officiated by the National Women Chairperson Hajjat Farida kimbowa.
She rallied masses for maternal awareness with a strong call for Women financial empowerment.
"Women should embrace PDM,UWEP, YLP, emyooga and enrich themselves instead of relying on their husbands." Said Kimbowa.
She warned against reliance on traditional herbalist (mulelwa) emphasizing the importance of government health facilities.
"Chilren are a gift from God so always pray for them." Hajjat Kimbowa Said.
While addressing teenage mothers, the National Women Chairperson advised them not to loose hope but instead deliver and get back to school.
The facility incharge highlighted challenges of under staffing, lack of latrines and inadequate water source.
The Districk speaker promised to supervise UWEP and YLP funds since it's vital in ensuring fairness and hold leaders accountable.
The Secretary works and technical Services Mrs Nansamba Milly promised to positively represent Women and will always represent women challenges in DEC for consideration.
The Asst RDC Mr. Bikongolo Khalid cautioned mothers against neglecting their responsibilities.
He urged men to actively participate in providing for their families, supporting their spouse and ensuring that children receive proper guidance and care.
Hajjat kibowa finally donated essential items like basins ,soap, mama kit among others to expectant mothers.
